The children in Otters and Owls really enjoyed having the author Joseph Witchall in. He worked with both classes talking about his book Verdi and demonstrating his skills as an illustrator. The children gave Joseph ideas for new characters and explained them in detail for him to draw - they even used a character they’ve created outside in their OPAL play to describe. They then created their own characters in this engaging session. We are lucky enough that as part of The Appledore Book Festival, each child got given a book with their name written inside by the author.
