School Lunches at Beaford
At Beaford, we are fortunate to have an amazing Kitchen Manager, Donna Tye, who has been a valued part of our school for the past four years. Donna is passionate about providing children with high-quality, nutritious meals that are freshly prepared on-site every day. Her dedication to ensuring children enjoy delicious, balanced meals is a key part of our commitment to supporting their well-being and learning.
- Cost: School lunches are available for £2.55 per meal.
- Free Meals: All pupils in Reception and Key Stage 1 are entitled to free school meals under the government’s Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) scheme.
- Fresh and Local: We work with local suppliers to ensure our ingredients are fresh and sustainably sourced, and every meal is cooked fresh daily by Donna and her team.
- Taster Sessions and Cooking Lessons: Donna also runs taster sessions for children, encouraging them to try new foods and expand their palates. From time to time, she even leads cooking sessions, inspiring our pupils to learn more about food and healthy eating.
Our school lunches are carefully designed to meet nutritional standards, offering a variety of meals to suit different tastes and dietary needs. We believe that meal times are important not only for nourishment but also for socialising and building community, and Donna plays a central role in making that a reality for our pupils.
