Remote Education
At Beaford, we are committed to providing high-quality remote education that ensures all pupils continue to progress in their learning, even when they are unable to attend school in person. We follow the Department for Education’s guidance to ensure that remote learning is effective, accessible, and aligned with the in-school curriculum.
How Remote Education is Delivered
Our remote learning provision includes a combination of live lessons, recorded lessons, and online resources. We use platforms such as Google Classroom and CenturyTech to deliver lessons in core subjects like maths, reading, and spelling, as well as foundation subjects. Teachers will upload assignments, provide resources, and guide students through their tasks remotely.
What to Expect
Pupils should expect a structured approach to their remote learning, with a set number of hours each day that mirrors the in-school timetable as closely as possible. Teachers will provide daily tasks and activities, and pupils are expected to complete and submit their work regularly.
Accessing Remote Education
All pupils have access to remote learning through their personal login details for Google Classroom and CenturyTech. If your child is having difficulties accessing the platform, please contact the school for assistance.
Support for Pupils Without Devices or Internet
We are aware that some families may not have access to the necessary technology for remote learning. We have a limited number of devices that can be loaned to families in need. Please contact the school to discuss this, or if you require printed materials as an alternative.
Curriculum Continuity
Our remote education is designed to align with the curriculum taught in school, ensuring that pupils do not fall behind. Teachers plan lessons that build on prior learning and continue the sequence of the curriculum as much as possible.
Pupil Engagement and Feedback
Pupils are expected to engage in daily learning activities and complete assigned work. Teachers will monitor engagement and provide regular feedback to support pupils’ progress. Attendance in live sessions will also be monitored to ensure pupils are participating in their education.
Support for Pupils with SEND
We are committed to ensuring that all pupils, including those with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND), can access remote education. Additional resources, personalised learning plans, and one-to-one support (where needed) will be provided to ensure that SEND pupils receive the appropriate support.
