Curriculum Enrichment
At Beaford Primary School, we recognise that education is about more than just classroom learning. That’s why our enriched curriculum extends beyond the school, offering a variety of workshops, educational visits, and expert talks that provide pupils with hands-on, real-world experiences. These Big Events are carefully designed to ignite curiosity, promote critical thinking, and inspire creativity, allowing children to connect their learning to the world around them.
A highlight of our enriched curriculum is the exciting residential visits on offer for our children. For example, in Year 5, pupils enjoy a week-long trip to London, where they immerse themselves in the culture and history of the capital. The visit includes unforgettable experiences such as touring the House of Parliament, watching a West End show, exploring the Harry Potter Studios, taking in the views from the London Eye, and visiting renowned museums like the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. These experiences not only broaden their knowledge but also foster independence, teamwork, and confidence.
Throughout the academic year, our enriched curriculum provides countless opportunities for pupils to deepen their understanding across a wide range of subjects. Whether it’s learning about history at key landmarks, engaging with science through interactive workshops, or expanding their horizons through professional speakers, our curriculum brings learning to life.
These experiences are designed to complement our core curriculum, helping children develop essential skills like collaboration, communication, and resilience. By offering these enriching opportunities, we aim to foster a love of learning that stays with pupils long after they leave Beaford.
