Maths
Children take three maths papers:
- Paper 1: Arithmetic, lasting 30 minutes.
- Papers 2 and 3: Reasoning, with each paper taking 40 minutes.
Paper 1 consists of fixed response questions that require children to provide the correct answers to calculations, such as long multiplication and division. Papers 2 and 3 include various types of questions, such as:
- Multiple choice
- True or false
- Constrained questions, for example, providing the answer to a calculation, drawing a shape, or completing a table or chart
- Less constrained questions, where children are required to explain their methodology for solving a problem.
