Hedgehogs RNLI Water Safety Workshop

On Friday, 11th October, the Hedgehogs class had the pleasure of welcoming John, a dedicated volunteer from the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution).

John gave an engaging and informative session, teaching the children about the vital role the RNLI plays in saving lives at sea. He explained that beyond their work on lifeboats and beaches, the RNLI is deeply involved in supporting the local community.

The children learned valuable lessons about water safety, including how to stay safe in and around the sea. They eagerly participated, answering a range of questions that helped them understand the potential dangers of the ocean.

In addition to the discussions, the children had hands-on opportunities to try on lifeboat crew gear, wave signal flags, and practice safety techniques in case they ever found themselves in an emergency at sea. It was an exciting and educational experience that really brought water safety to life.
