On Thursday, our Year 1 and Year 2 classes embarked on an exciting educational trip to Northam Burrows. The children spent the day exploring the wide-open landscapes, learning about the diverse ecosystems, and engaging in fun outdoor activities. Accompanied by their teachers and a group of parent volunteers, the students were eager to explore the grassy dunes and rocky shorelines. Guided by local rangers, they learned about the unique wildlife and plant species that call Northam Burrows home. In addition to their environmental exploration, the children also learned about life during Victorian times. Through engaging stories and activities, they discovered how people lived, worked, and spent their leisure time during that period, adding a historical dimension to their learning experience. One of the highlights of the trip was an adventure hunt, where the children searched for different types of shells, plants, and insects followed by looking at crabs and prawns in the tank at the visitor centre.
